Wakefield Skate Park
Annandale, Virginia, US
Terrain & Features
A free Fairfax County Park Authority facility at Wakefield Park featuring a Spohn Ranch concrete street plaza, separate beginner and competition zones, floodlights until 11pm, and rec center skate lessons.
Set next to the Audrey Moore Rec Center inside Wakefield Park, Wakefield Skate Park is a longtime Northern Virginia staple operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority. The complex pairs a smooth Spohn Ranch concrete street plaza with distinct beginner/intermediate and competition ramp courses, and overhead sports floodlights keep the entire facility open daily from dawn until 11:00pm for after-work sessions.
Older skaters getting their legs back can start in the gentler progression area and 4-foot mini-ramp/bowl or work along the low banks, manual pads, and ledges of the concrete plaza without crossing into the larger competition transitions. Through the adjacent Audrey Moore Rec Center, the Park Authority also schedules beginner skateboarding classes, clinics, and private lessons. Note that this is a free drop-in facility shared with BMX riders and inline skaters; check with the Rec Center office before visiting during school breaks when youth camps may occupy portions of the course.
