Springfield Skate Park
Springfield, Missouri, US
Terrain & Features
A supervised municipal complex operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board combining a 13,500-square-foot indoor wood ramp facility with a 25,000-square-foot lit outdoor concrete park, beginner area, and Back on Board camps for ages 18 and up.
Operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board just west of downtown, Springfield Skate Park pairs two full facilities under one supervised admission desk: a 13,500-square-foot indoor warehouse lined with smooth Finland Birch wood ramps and street obstacles, and a 25,000-square-foot outdoor poured-concrete park designed by SITE Design Group with overhead night lighting. Beyond daily open sessions, the Park Board runs seasonal “Back on Board” skate camps specifically for riders ages 18 and up (beginner to intermediate levels) focused on board control, falling safely, park etiquette, and transition fundamentals.
Returning riders rebuilding their legs can start in the outdoor concrete park’s dedicated beginner area or on the low wood banks and flat rails indoors before stepping into the outdoor flow course, street plaza, and concrete combi-bowl. Helmets are mandatory for all riders, with $3 helmet rentals and $5 popsicle-deck rentals available at the front counter (note that longboards and penny boards are not permitted during structured camps). Plan around two operational caveats: Saturday skating is split into two separate sessions with the floor cleared between 3:00pm and 3:30pm, and the unairconditioned indoor warehouse modifies or pauses operations if interior summer temperatures reach 95°F—call ahead during mid-summer heat waves.
