Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Skatepark (McPike Park)
Madison, Wisconsin, US
Terrain & Features
A popular concrete park catering to older skaters with lighting until 10pm and a layout that separates a 4–7ft flow bowl from the deeper eggplant bowl.
Goodman Skatepark is the premier spot in Madison, located within McPike Park. The 20,000-square-foot facility is well-regarded by older skaters for its generous lighting hours (open until 10pm from mid-April to October) and early 4am opening, making it highly practical for those fitting a session around work.
The layout physically separates the street section (which makes up about 70% of the park) from the transition area. The transition section itself offers two distinct bowls: a mellow 4–7 foot flow bowl that is ideal for warming up or regaining confidence, and a more advanced 9-foot eggplant bowl for experienced riders. For a skateboard-only session just northeast of the city, you can also check out Sun Prairie Skateboard Park in Sheehan Park.
