Terrain & Features
A 16,000-square-foot poured-concrete municipal skatepark in Dubuque's Flora Park designed with Pillar Design Studios and Origin Design, open daily from 7am to 10pm with site lighting and separate street plaza and transition bowl zones.
Set on the north side of Flora Park off Wilbricht Lane and Pennsylvania Avenue, Flora Park Skatepark (also known locally as the Dubuque Skate Park) is a 16,000-square-foot custom poured-concrete facility designed by Pillar Design Studios and Origin Design for the City of Dubuque. Open seven days a week from 7:00am to 10:00pm with site security lighting, ADA-accessible parking, and a drinking fountain right beside the slab, the park gives older skaters in the Tri-State area reliable early-morning and after-work windows.
The course layout physically separates its broad street plaza—featuring smooth flatground approaches, mellow bank ramps, manual pads, low grind ledges, and flat rails—from a dedicated concrete transition bowl and spine section, making it easy for returning riders to warm up on low-impact street lines before dropping into transition. Keep several City of Dubuque rules and caveats in mind: the facility is unsupervised (“skate at your own risk”) and shared by skateboards, inline skates, bicycles, and non-motorized scooters, helmets, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards are strongly recommended, food and beverages are prohibited inside the fence, spectators must watch from outside the fenced enclosure, and amplified music must be kept at moderate levels. You can also pair a Mississippi River session here with Riverside Skatepark in Cedar Rapids or Lauridsen Skatepark in Des Moines.
