Terrain & Features
A 15,600-square-foot municipal concrete skatepark in Salt Lake City's Sugar House neighborhood featuring overhead lighting, early 5:00am openings, and a street and mini-ramp course separated from its two bowls.
Set inside 27-acre Fairmont Park in Salt Lake City’s Sugar House neighborhood, Fairmont Skatepark is a 15,600-square-foot poured-concrete facility designed by SITE Design Group. Its layout divides two deeper bowls—including an 8-foot kidney bowl—from a broad street and beginner-to-intermediate progression zone equipped with a mini-ramp, manual pads, low ledges, flat rails, banks, and a euro-gap, giving older skaters forgiving terrain to warm up on before dropping into deeper transition.
With park hours running from 5:00am to 11:00pm and overhead floodlighting extending sessions well past sunset, returning skaters have reliable early-morning and late-evening windows outside the after-school rush. Restrooms and free parking are available inside Fairmont Park. Note that afternoon and weekend peak hours draw heavy scooter, BMX, and street traffic, and Salt Lake City’s Public Lands Department has an active multi-year Fairmont Park improvement plan underway, so check city notices for any phased construction impacts around Sugarmont Drive.
