Carpenter Park Skate Park

A premier 30,000-square-foot public concrete facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. Features a sprawling street plaza physically separated from deep transition bowls, a strict skateboard-only policy excluding bicycles, and floodlights until 11pm.

Located on Coit Road in Plano, Carpenter Park Skate Park is one of the largest and most comprehensive municipal skate facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Built through a collaboration between New Line Skateparks and SPA Skateparks, the 30,000-square-foot park combines a competition-scale bowl complex with an expansive street plaza.

For older skaters, two design policies make Carpenter Park an exceptional comeback spot. First, municipal regulations strictly prohibit bicycles, removing the erratic speeds and blind-corner hazards that often make mixed-use parks stressful for skaters rebuilding their footing. Second, the spacious plaza terrain is physically segregated from the deep bowl sections, offering wide lanes of smooth flatground, mellow bank ramps, and low manual pads where you can dial in fundamentals without being caught in transition drop-in paths.

The Texas sun can be intense during midday hours, so plan sessions for the quiet early morning window between 5:00 AM and 8:30 AM, or take advantage of the floodlights that stay on until 11:00 PM. Restrooms, shaded viewing shelters, and dedicated parking are located directly adjacent to the course.
