One of skateboarding's most iconic DIY spots, built by skaters under the Burnside Bridge in 1990. The organic concrete terrain features banks, bowls, and transitions that reward smooth, flowing skating. The atmosphere is mellow during weekday mornings when regulars — many of them in their 30s, 40s, and 50s — have the park to themselves.
Burnside is intermediate-level — the terrain requires some experience, particularly the steeper bowl sections. However, the banking areas and flatground around the perimeter are accessible to confident beginners. Go on a weekday morning for the best adult-skater atmosphere.
