An 18,000-square-foot municipal concrete skatepark in Harrison Park with dedicated areas for beginners, evening floodlights until 9:30pm, and monthly Saturday morning workshops for older skaters hosted by Skate Like a Girl SF Bay Area.

Set inside Harrison Park in West Berkeley, the Terrence McCrary, Jr. Memorial Skate Park—known locally as Berkeley Skatepark—spans 18,000 square feet of poured concrete designed by SITE Design Group. The layout separates terrain into three distinct tiers so older skaters returning to the board can avoid high-speed cross-traffic: the upper perimeter (“The Track”) and entrance (“Tech section”) hold a small mini-pipe, manual pads, funboxes, and low flat bars, while the lower level (“The Pit”) contains quarter-pipes, bank hips, and a deep oval bowl.

The park is a primary East Bay hub for Skate Like a Girl SF Bay Area, which hosts monthly Saturday morning workshops here tailored to older skaters rebuilding balance and safe falling mechanics. Weekend mornings starting at 8:00am and lit weeknights until 9:30pm offer the calmest windows. Note that the City of Berkeley requires helmets at all times (with knee and elbow pads strongly recommended), prohibits bikes and scooters, and closes the gate during municipal camp programs, clinics, and wet weather.
