Set on the western perimeter of Plymouth’s largest public green space near Home Park stadium, Central Park Skatepark is a 2,100-square-metre cast-concrete facility built by Freestyle Skateparks. Designed to serve both transition purists and street skaters, the park’s multi-tier layout offers generous working room for riders of differing paces and confidence levels.

For older skaters, the transition section’s layout is remarkably forgiving. Instead of an aggressive vert bowl, the open bowl area features rolling banked corners and an organic central pump bump that allows you to pump for momentum and practice carving without committing to overhead drops or heavy impacts. Adjacent to the transitions, the multi-level street plaza provides broad flat banks, staggered low ledges, and gentle roll-ins where you can safely warm up stiff ankles and knees before tackling larger obstacles.

The park is free, open 24 hours, and benefits from overhead floodlighting that enables sessions after work throughout the year. Free parking is available at the adjacent Milehouse park-and-ride lot, and public toilets are accessible near the Plymouth Life Centre. Keep in mind that heavy south-west rainfall can cause the deep bowl’s base drain to puddle, and local maintenance monitors occasional hairline surface settling, so inspect transitions before dropping in.
