Viaduc Van Horne Skatepark

The Plateau's first multipurpose skatepark, tucked under the Van Horne viaduct so it is skateable in rain and shaded in summer: a concrete park built around a bowl with pool coping and a snake run, with a street-style section of rails, hubbas, ledges and banks, and lights. Free, run by the city.

The Van Horne underpass project turned a dead space beneath a railway viaduct at the corner of Saint-Laurent and Cloutier into a park that the city describes as multipurpose: skatepark, street furniture, a stage, removable modules and event lighting. For skaters the roof is the point — Montréal weather is hard on outdoor parks, and this one keeps working through it.

The terrain is friendlier to a returner than the Plateau’s reputation suggests. A snake run and a backyard-style bowl with pool coping reward carving rather than tricks, and the street section — rails, hubbas, ledges, banks, manual pads — is there when you want it. The city lists opening hours on its page; check before an early or late visit. Le TAZ, Canada’s largest indoor park, is across town if you want coaching or a full winter option.
