Topaz Skatepark

Victoria's 3,000-square-metre all-wheels concrete skate facility in Topaz Park, built by New Line Skateparks. Features a dedicated beginner street area physically separated from Vancouver Island's largest bowl, backed by floodlights until 10:30pm.

Opened as part of the City of Victoria’s comprehensive park improvement plan in collaboration with New Line Skateparks, Topaz Skatepark is Vancouver Island’s flagship riding destination. Spanning 3,000 square metres of custom-poured concrete alongside an adjacent 6,000-square-metre bike pump track, the park was engineered with clear zoning to keep riders of different disciplines and ability levels from colliding.

For older skaters, the standout feature is the dedicated beginner area, deliberately segregated from the high-velocity lines feeding into the island’s largest deep bowl. Learners and returning riders can practice foundational mechanics across gentle bank ramps, low manual pads, and knee-high ledges without dodging runaway boards. The smooth asphalt pump track also provides an excellent low-impact warm-up for getting your legs and pumping rhythm in sync before hitting the concrete course.

Powerful floodlights illuminate the course until 10:30pm every evening, making post-work sessions straightforward. Sunny weekend mid-afternoons draw heavy crowds of younger riders and scooters, so aim for weekday mornings or later evening windows for the calmest sessions.
