Occupying a prominent position at Winnipeg’s historic meeting place where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet, The Plaza at The Forks is one of the most celebrated concrete plazas in North America. Its sheer scale — covering over 44,000 square feet — means older skaters are never crowded into tight corners or forced to negotiate chaotic drop-ins with high-speed lines.

The park is partitioned between a 29,000-square-foot street plaza (incorporating granite ledges, smooth brick inlays, low banks, and wide-open flatground) and a dedicated 8,500-square-foot bowl complex with a 17-foot cradle. For returning skaters, the expansive flat expanses and gentle banks provide ideal low-impact carving while the evening lighting keeps sessions running comfortably after dark. The Forks Market building right next door offers clean washrooms, water, and food.
