Legacy Skatepark

Ottawa's largest public concrete skatepark, covering over 17,000 square feet behind Ben Franklin Place. Features a sprawling street course and open-ended bowl with ample flatground, offering peaceful early morning sessions for older skaters.

Situated in Nepean directly behind Ben Franklin Place and the Meridian Theatres, Legacy Skatepark is the premier public concrete skatepark in the National Capital Region. Spanning roughly 18,000 square feet of smooth poured concrete, the park provides an expansive mix of street obstacles, transition banks, and a large open-ended bowl.

For older skaters, the key advantage of Legacy’s generous footprint is the abundance of low-risk perimeter space. Wide flatground lanes and gentle sloped banks allow you to dial in board control, pushing tempo, and carve turns away from high-speed drop-in zones. Rather than feeling hemmed in by steep drop-offs, returning riders can take progressive runs over low manual pads and manageable flat rails.

Because the facility lacks dedicated nighttime floodlights, sessions are naturally bounded by daylight hours. Weekday mornings between 7:30am and 10:30am are exceptionally quiet, avoiding the busy youth after-school and weekend rushes. Ample public parking and civic building amenities are available right next to the plaza.
