Located right outside Melbourne’s central business district along Boathouse Drive in Alexandra Gardens, Riverslide is unique in Australia as a fully staffed, council-owned facility operated by the YMCA. That supervision creates an unusually welcoming, zero-attitude environment for older skaters getting back on a board.

The park offers regular group lessons and evening progression sessions specifically tailored for older skaters and adults, providing structured tips on foot placement, turning mechanics, and rolling safely. The layout focuses on a versatile street plaza with mini-ramps, fun boxes, flat banks, manual pads, and manageable ledges. Toilets, a skate shop, and a café selling coffee and snacks are built into the pavilion, and Flinders Street Station is just a short stroll across the Princes Bridge.
