Paddington Skate Park

One of Brisbane's first street-style parks and still the inner city's go-to, laid out in an open flow around a big shady tree. Smooth resurfaced concrete, a large bank, a central fun box, stairs, rail combos and a bowl, with lights for evening sessions once the heat drops.

The layout is the reason to come: everything loops around a central tree, so there is real shade in a Brisbane summer and the lines flow instead of dead-ending. The concrete has been redone and is fast and smooth, and the mix — large bank, fun box, stairs, rail combinations, a bowl — gives you something at every confidence level without any single obstacle dominating the park.

Lights mean the 6am start and the 9:15pm close are both usable, which matters when the middle of the day is too hot to skate. The big concrete stairs at the southern end double as spectator seating, though regulars tend to bring a chair.
