Positioned right along the coastline in Buhk Family Park opposite the surf lifesaving club, Alexandra Headland Skatepark is one of Queensland’s standout beachside recreation venues. Re-engineered through a comprehensive $1.2 million Convic upgrade, the facility combines a modern, high-grade concrete finish with ocean breezes and expansive coastal parkland amenities.

For older skaters, the defining architectural strength is the complete physical separation between the 4-foot mini-bowl and the split-level 6-to-9-foot competition bowl. The standalone mini-bowl offers smooth, forgiving radiuses and manageable steel coping where you can practice pumping, backside carves, and axle stalls without the fear of falling from overhead heights. Similarly, the street plaza incorporates low-height hubbas, a 3-foot quarter bowl, and broad flat banks with plenty of run-out clearance.

Automated floodlights illuminate the park until 9:00 PM every evening, making post-work sunset sessions comfortable even in hot summer weather. The surrounding reserve provides shaded tiered seating beneath Norfolk Island pines, free public Wi-Fi, modern public restrooms, and beachside parking. Because the facility sits directly on the oceanfront, early dawn sessions can encounter morning dew on the coping before sunlight dries the concrete; weekends and school holidays are lively with young families, so plan for weekday mornings or evening sessions.
